Sp Motorsports - 2nd place for Typhoon MotoRacing UoWM 2021
Major sponsor and supporter of the project "Cerberus", η SP Motorsports supplied the necessary motorcycle parts for the construction of the racing motorcycle of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Western Macedonia.
The student group Typhoon MotoRacing UoWM would like to thank Spyros Papageorgiou, the team's driver, first for his undivided trust and then for providing valuable knowledge and material for the completion and improvement of their motorcycle's performance.

"KERVEROS" won the 2nd place among 37 entries
The 2nd place among 37 university teams from Europe and the rest of the world was won by "Cerberus", η racing motorcycle of the group "Typhoon MotoRacing UoWM" of the University of Western Macedonia in the International Motostudent VI competition. The competition was held from 15-18 July 2021, at the Motorland - Aragon circuit in Spain.
The team of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia received 680,7 points in the overall ranking and took the 2nd place, behind the Team "2WheelsPolTO" of the Polytechnic University of Turin.
They were followed by teams from Polytechnics with a significant tradition of Motostudent such as the Polytechnic of Rome, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid and the Polytechnics of Germany and the United Kingdom. In 8th place with 574,4 points was the team "Panther Racing Car" of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Valuable help in organisation and communication on behalf of the team "Cerberus" gave the Larissa Euridiki Mandela, mechanical engineer and PhD candidate at the same Polytechnic -daughter of the well-known Michalis Mandela- and even solving questions about the also Larissa driver who was almost left out of the mission for purely bureaucratic reasons.
The Sp Motorsports "led" the competition in 2nd place
In the purely racing part of the Aragonese track, the "Cerberus" development driver was the experienced race driver and Larissa, Spyros Papageorgiou, who supported the project from the very first moment, took 6th place.

Who is the Typhoon MotoRacing UoWM team
The group was founded in 2014 and today consists of 23 students under the supervision of Associate Professor Dimitris Giagopoulos, who has been supervising its work since the day of its foundation.
She took part in her first competition in 2016, followed by the 2018 competition with "Chimera" where the team received two firsts for its performance in the construction part of the racing prototype followed by the competition Typhoon MotoRacing UoWM 2021 which took place after two postponements due to the pandemic.
The team of "Typhoon MotoRacing UoWM" in this competition came down with wild intentions. Although the pandemic with the frequent loctowns created problems in the work and coordination in the manufacturing of the motorcycle parts, this did not stop the team from designing and building the new bike from scratch, applying a multitude of innovative design and manufacturing ideas.
